Gold

Gold is a substance constituent with the sign Au and tiny number 79. It is a opaque, squashy, impressionable and yielding metal with a brilliant yellow color and shine, the property of which stay without spoling when uncovered to air or water.

 

Chemically, gold is an evolution metal and a group 11 constituent. The metal therefore is found often in free elemental form, as nuggets or grains, in rocks, in veins and in alluvial deposits. Less frequently, it occurs in raw materials as gold complex, such as with tellurium ascalaverite, sylvanite, or krennerite.

 

As a native element mineral, gold structurally fits in to the isometric copper group. It also forms a hard solution series with the resident constituent silver to which it is often naturally alloyed. Other common natural gold alloys are with copper and palladium.

 

Gold resists tarnishing by entity acids, and alsos dissolve in alkaline solutions of cyanide, which have been used in removal.

 

Gold in dental restorations was historically an exhibit of social status and wealth but also has considerably beneficial properties to not discolor.
